Resizing and file size
Halving the width and height leaves a quarter of the pixels, so the file usually shrinks a lot. If you need a specific file size rather than dimensions, use the image compressor instead.
Questions
How do I keep the proportions?
Fill in only the width or only the height and leave the other empty. The tool works out the other side.
What’s the difference between fit, crop and stretch?
Fit inside keeps the whole picture inside the size you set. Crop to fill fills the exact size and trims the edges. Stretch forces the exact size and can distort the image.
Can I resize many images at once?
Yes. Every image you drop gets the same settings, and you can download them together as a zip.
Does making an image bigger add detail?
No. Enlarging spreads the existing pixels over a bigger area, so it can look soft.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser, and your files never leave your device.
